How do I set up JSON-LD?
- Back Up Your Theme
- duplicate your theme first. Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Click Actions → Duplicate.
- This creates a backup copy in case you need to revert changes. Then, Next to your live theme, click Actions → Edit code
- Locate the **Product Page **File
- In the left sidebar, look in the Sections folder (for Online Store 2.0 themes like Dawn, Horizon, Sense) or Templates folder (for vintage themes).
- Different themes use different file names. Search for one of these files: main-product.liquid, product-information.liquid, product-template.liquid, product.liquid, product-page.liquid, product-main.liquid, or any .liquid file with "product" in the name.
Note: Do NOT edit product.json files (they are auto-generated).
- Add the JSON-LD Snippet
- Open the file and scroll to the bottom.
- IMPORTANT: If you're editing a section file (files in the Sections folder), paste the snippet AFTER the {% endschema %} tag (at the very end of the file).
- If you're editing a template file (files in the Templates folder), paste it right before the closing </body> tag.
- Never paste inside the {% schema %} block! Copy and paste the complete JSON-LD snippet shown below into the file at this location.
- Click Save to save your changes. Your store won't be AI-indexable until you save!
