How do I set up the VAT Exempt App?

1. Clear tax:

• Make sure you are not collecting tax in any region in the Shopify tax settings
• In Shopify Settings, go to Taxes and Duties
• Make sure all taxes are set to 0

2. Tax included product price:

• Make sure all your products have the price set as tax included

3. Activate the app:

• Navigate to the app settings and activate the app

4. Configure tax settings

• Go to the app settings and set your tax rate
• Enter the Tax rate (the percentage of your tax)
• Enter the Discount Name (the name shown for the tax exemption discount)
• Choose where to apply the tax: apply to each line item in the cart or apply to order subtotal
• Check Apply reverse tax to shipping if you want it applied to shipping too

5. Add VAT validator form:

• Go to the app settings and add the VAT validator form to your cart or checkout page
• You have two options:

Add the VAT validator to the cart

Add the VAT validator to the checkout page (this requires a Shopify Plus plan)

• You can refer to the respective article to set up the VAT validation form

All steps are completed; your VAT Exempt App will work perfectly from now on
