How to install the Theme Extension (App Embed)

The theme extension loads Google Analytics on your storefront. Without it, tracking will not work.

Prerequisites

• Your Measurement ID is saved in the app first

Steps

1. Open AB: Google Analytics in Shopify Admin
2. Go to Install Theme Extension (Step 3)
3. Click Install Theme Extension
4. Shopify opens the theme editor
5. In the left sidebar, find App embeds
6. Turn ON the embed for AB: Google Analytics (or Google Analytics)
7. Click Save (top right of theme editor)
8. Go back to the app
9. Click Check Status — it should show Active

Already installed?

Use Open theme editor to verify the embed is still enabled after theme changes.

Theme extension not showing Active?

• Confirm you clicked Save in the theme editor
• Make sure you're editing the live/published theme (or the theme you use for the storefront)
• Click Check Status again in the app
