Troubleshooting App Embed & Theme Extension Issues

If you're having trouble enabling the AB: Google Analytics app embed or completing the theme extension setup, follow the steps below.

Theme Extension Stuck on "In Progress"

If the app shows Install Theme Extension as "In Progress":

1. Open Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes
2. Click Customize on your live theme.
3. Open App Embeds.
4. Make sure AB: Google Analytics is enabled.
5. Click Save.
6. Return to the app and refresh the page or click Check Status.

The status should update automatically.

Theme Editor Not Loading

If clicking Install Theme Extension opens a blank page or the Theme Editor does not load:

1. Open Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes manually.
2. Click Customize on your active theme.
3. Continue with the App Embed activation steps below.

Can't Find App Embeds

If you don't see App Embeds immediately:

1. Open Online Store → Themes → Customize.
2. In the Theme Editor, click the App Embeds icon in the left sidebar.
3. Locate AB: Google Analytics.
4. Turn the toggle ON.
5. Click Save.

Depending on your Shopify version, the location of App Embeds may vary slightly.

App Embed Not Showing

If you cannot find AB: Google Analytics in App Embeds:

1. Return to the app.
2. Verify that the Theme Extension is installed.
3. Refresh the Theme Editor.
4. Check App Embeds again.

If the app embed still does not appear, contact our support team.

Verify the App Embed Is Enabled

To confirm everything is set up correctly:

1. Open Online Store → Themes → Customize.
2. Open App Embeds.
3. Ensure AB: Google Analytics is turned ON.
4. Click Save.

Once enabled, your store is ready to send tracking data to Google Analytics.
